Four Malaysian-based Bangladeshi expatriates receive ‘Human Harmony Award 2025’ in Maldives. At the Human Harmony Conference, organised by the Asian Business Partnership Summit, four distinguished Bangladeshi expatriates based in Malaysia were honoured with the Human Harmony Award 2025 in recognition of their outstanding contributions to social harmony and development initiatives. This year’s summit celebrated a total of 40 eminent personalities from eight countries, including Bangladesh.
The award ceremony took place on 9 October at the Villa International College Auditorium in the Maldivian capital, Malé, as part of the grand Human Harmony Conference and Awards 2025.
The recipients include two well-known figures from the Bangladeshi community in Malaysia: Kaisar Hamid Hannan, Staff Correspondent of NTV and Vice President of the Malaysia Bangladesh Community Press Club; and Mohammad Ali, Malaysia Correspondent for DBC News and Kaler Kantho. They were joined by CIP Shahabuddin, Managing Director of Global Resource Sdn. Bhd. and Anannya Afrin, a Bangladeshi model and winner of Miss Stars Universe Malaysia.
The event’s chief guest was Mohammad Muthalib, the Maldivian Minister of State for Fisheries and Ocean Resources. In his brief address, the minister underscored the importance of promoting human harmony and advancing sectors such as education, health, tourism and industry for sustainable national development.
Among the special guests were Ahmed Saeed Mustafa, Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning of the Maldives; Anand Prasad Pokharel, former Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal; Hussain Nihad, Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports, Fitness and Recreation of the Maldives; and Abdul Jalil Ismail, Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs.
The conference was chaired by Golam Faruk Majnu, Executive Director of the Asian Business Partnership Summit, who emphasised the pivotal role of human harmony in achieving global peace and development. He also called for the introduction of liberalised visa policies among Asian nations to boost international trade and tourism cooperation.
Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the importance of strengthening human harmony, improving education and healthcare, enhancing regional collaboration, elevating the tourism industry to global standards, and expanding international trade partnerships. Global Star Communication Bangladesh CEO RK Ripon and Singer Didar were present at the event.
The Bangladeshi awardees expressed their deep honour at receiving such a prestigious Asian recognition. “We feel immensely proud to represent Bangladesh on this global stage,” they said, adding that the accolade would inspire them to further their work and promote the image of Bangladesh abroad.
